Teaching
I have years of experience growing fruit & vegetables, creating school gardens, and creating and running gardening activities for children and adults.
I offer vegetable growing lessons for schools, nurseries, care homes or businesses in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, and surrounding areas. I can run sessions directly or create growing plans for teachers/staff members to follow. I have a full enhanced DBS check, £5 million public liability insurance, and glowing references from previous schools I have worked with.
I always aim to create growing programmes that incorporate all aspects of growing food, from seed to harvest, and keep people engaged by growing food they may never have seen before, like black tomatoes or purple carrots, or even vegetables you may never have heard of.
All of my methods are environmentally friendly and I use no pesticides, I use my own fertiliser made from plants and teach
people how to achieve this themselves. I now work for myself and am offering my services to schools to create their own school gardens and growing programmes, or expand on programmes they have in place. I offer advice and guidance throughout this process and can either train teachers to carry out gardening activities or work with the teachers to hold activity sessions directly with the children. If required I also offer 24/7 gardening advice and guidance for a monthly fee to ensure your growing programmes stay on track. I feel now more than ever it is vitally important for people to maintain their innate connection with nature, and with the food we can grow ourselves.
